Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1,2 & 4 to provide police protection to celebrate the Sri.Ujjini Magali Amman Kovil Vaihasi Annual Pongal Festival which will be started on 06.05.2025 and the subsequent festival celebration will be held on 13.05.2025 to 21.05.2025 as per the order passed by the Joint Commissioner of HR & CE, Madurai dated 10.07.2023 and as well as the representation made by the petitioners dated 01.05.2025 by this Court.

ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus directing the respondents 1,2 & 4 to provide police protection to celebrate Sri.Ujjini Magali Amman Kovil Vaihasi Annual Pongal Festival which will be started on 06.05.2025 and the subsequent festival celebration will be held on 13.05.2025 to 21.05.2025 as per the order passed by the Joint Commissioner of HR & CE, Madurai dated 10.07.2023 by considering the representation made by the petitioners dated 01.05.2025.

2. It is reported by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor that the Peace Committee Meeting was held and the Tahsildar, Melur has also passed an order permitting the parties to conduct the festival. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor further submits that the temple festival is going on.

3. In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, no further order is required in this regard. The Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
