PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, praying, directing the Inspector of Police, Pazhavoor Police Station, Tirunelveli District, the second respondent herein, to give adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his family members at the time of agriculture work in his property from the third respondent based on the representation given by the petitioner dated 20.05.2023.

O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking for a direction to respondent No.2 to provide suitable police protection to the petitioner and the property belonging to him.

2. It is submitted that originally, the property belonging to respondent No.3 and he has sold it to one Velmurugan under registered sale deed, who inturn sold the said property in favour of the petitioner under registered sale deed dated 03.08.2011 and the petitioner after purchasing of the land has built fence on three sides and also part of fourth side except 10 feet to 15 feet for which, the respondent No.3 is raising objections without any semblance of act. It is submitted that the petitioner has filed a representation before respondent Nos.1 and 2 to provide suitable police protection for fencing his land. However, the Police have not been responding.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) on the other hand submits that the Police will enquire in respect of the petitions submitted by the petitioner by giving notice to respondent No.3 and complete the enquiry within a period of two weeks and if necessary, give police protection, otherwise give suitable directions.

4. Considering the same, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of by directing the respondent police to dispose of the representation given by the petitioner within a period of two weeks and give police protection if necessary.
