ORDER

The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to the respondents to pay interest on the gratuity amount payable to the petitioner's late step father Subramaniyan. The petitioner 1/4

admittedly has been paid the gratuity amount and thereafter he has given a representation on 14.03.2025, seeking interest on the gratuity amount for the delay in releasing the payment.

2. I have heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. It is seen that the petitioner has earlier approached this court in W.P.(MD)No.15905 of 2024 and this Court by order dated 16.07.2024 had directed the respondents to pass orders on the petitioner's representation and it is only thereafter the principal gratuity amount has been released.

Now, the petitioner claims interest for belated payment and in this regard he has given a representation on 14.03.2025, therefore, without going into the merits of the petitioner's entitlement for interest on the gratuity amount, this writ petition is disposed of, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation on merits, in accordance with law and pass final orders within a period of 3 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
