O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the 1st and 2nd respondents i.e., the Director of Town Panchayat, Chennai and the Executive Officer, Ayyampalayam Town Panchayat to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 24.06.2017.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he had served as a registered Contractor for about 15 years in the Ayyampalayam Town Panchayat and executed a number of works from 2011 to 2015. It is the further case of the petitioner that since some amount is due to him from the Panchayat, he has submitted a representation dated 24.06.2017 to the 1st respondent for release of the approximate amount of Rs.5,00,000/- to the petitioner and since there was no response on his representation, he is before this Court with the above prayer.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents has produced a copy of the communication of the 2nd respondent dated 08.09.2017, which is addressed to him, wherein the 2nd respondent has admitted that the petitioner is entitled to get the refund of a sum of Rs.3,43,043/- after deducting all the amounts payable by the petitioner to the Panchayat.

4. Such being the case, this Court directs the respondents, especially the 2nd respondent to refund the said amount of Rs.3,43,043/- to the petitioner within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, without causing any further delay.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
