ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, seeking for a direction to the first respondent to revoke the order of suspension issued by him vide his proceedings R.C.No. 6145/A3/2021 dated 17.09.2021 by invoking Rule 17(e)(6) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (D & A) Rules, 1955 and by considering the petitioner's representation dated 21.12.2021. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was suspended on 17.09.2021, after he was implicated as an accused in Crime No.4 of 2021 for the alleged offence punishable under Section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, registered by the Vigilance and Anti Corruption Unit. The suspension order has to be reviewed once in three months and that has not been done in this case. Therefore, the petitioner has given a representation on 24.12.2021 to revoke his suspension. No orders had been 2/4

passed on his representation. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ petition. He further submitted that his representation may be considered in a time bound manner.

3.Heard Mr.H.Mohammed Imran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Sajibino, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner in this writ petition and the fact that the petitioner is under suspension from 17.09.2021, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.12.2021 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
