********** [Order of the Court was made by M.VENUGOPAL, J.] This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents to accommodate Cardiac Surgery and Cardiac Transplantation Department in the newly https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
constructed Super Speciality Hospital Building, Opposite to Trauma Care Building of the fourth Respondent.
2. Even though this Court on 18.09.2017 had directed the Dean of the Rajaji Government Hospital, Madurai, to file an affidavit, today the Dean of the fourth Respondent Hospital in his report dated 15.09.2017 had stated the following: "I submit that already as per approved and designed Detailed Project Report by Minister of Health and Family Welfare Department, Govt. of India for upgradation of Govt. Rajaji Hospital Madurai - PMSSY-II Scheme Cardiology Department has not been included and civil work of new building is under progress and yet to be completed.
The Department of General Medicine which is the parent department for Cardiology and it is situated in the old premises and the general medicine department is the main centre referring the cardiology cases they cannot be accommodated in two separate places. Moreover, after shifting the allocated departments to the new building space will be available which can be allotted to the cardiology department to fulfill the extra need."
