ORDER

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to respondents to consider his representation dated 28.04.2023, seeking reclassification of land in Resurvey No.66/1, Usilampatti Village, Karuvanur Post, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai.

2.Heard the arguments of Mr.M.Mithun, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mrs.S.Jeya Priya, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

3.According to the petitioner, the property situated in Survey No. 43/8 is a grama natham and is in the possession of the petitioner. During UDR updation, the same was reclassified as lane portion with New Survey No.66/1. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 28.04.2023 before the respondents, seeking rectification of the UDR records by restoring the classification of the property as 'Grama Natham'. The same has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner seeks UDR rectification and therefore, the second respondent is the competent authority to consider his request. He would further submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

5.In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 28.04.2023 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of
