PRAYER : Writ Petition- filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to take steps to make arrangements to receive Thalaikattu Vari from the petitioner and his community people like other villagers without any discrimination and ensure the participation of the petitioner and his community people to the temple festival of Mariamman Temple situated at Kallupatti Hamlet, Rajakkapatti Village, Dindigul East, Dindigul scheduled to be held on 27.05.2025 to 29.05.2025 or any dates in this year by considering the representation dated 22.04.2025 and 12.05.2025.

ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 to take steps to make arrangements to receive Thalaikattu Vari from the petitioner and his community people like other villagers without any discrimination and ensure the participation of the petitioner and his 2/6

community people to the temple festival of Mariamman Temple situated at Kallupatti Hamlet, Rajakkapatti Village, Dindigul East, Dindigul scheduled to be held on 27.05.2025 to 29.05.2025 or any dates in this year by considering the representation dated 22.04.2025 and 12.05.2025. 2.This Court during the earlier hearing directed the authorities concerned to appear before this Court.

3.Today, Mr.R.Sakthivel, Revenue Divisional Officer, Dindigul, Mr.D.S.Sibi Sai Soundaryan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dindigul Rural are present before this Court.

4.The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the official respondents, on instructions, submitted that the representation of the petitioner was considered and it was decided to receive "vari" from the petitioner and his community people vide proceedings dated 14.05.2025 in Na.Ka.No.2542/2025/A3. The said proceedings is placed on record. 5.For better appreciation, the relevant portion of the said proceedings is extracted hereunder:
