O R D E R

Alleging wilful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.P.(MD)No.1886 of 2020, this Contempt Petition has been filed.

2.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that this Court, by order dated 02.03.2022, in W.P(MD)No.1886 of 2020, directed the third respondent therein, to nominate the officer in the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police to conduct further investigation in the matter. The Deputy Superintendent of Police, who was appointed for further investigation, was directed to investigate the matter and file a final report and dispose of the case, within a period of three months, from his appointment. But, the respondent police did not comply with the said order. Hence this petition has been filed.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nagercoil Sub Division, namely, Mr.Naveen Kumar is appointed to investigate the case and the investigation is under progress. For filing final report, time is available as per the order dated 02.03.2022 in W.P.(MD).No.1886 of 2020.

4. In view of the above, this Court directs the respondent Police to investigate the case and complete it within the stipulate time as per the order dated 02.03.2022 in W.P.(MD).No.1886 of 2020.
