ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The matter is listed today under the caption 'for reporting compliance'. 2.The petitioner is an accused in Crime No.92 of 2024 on the file of the Siruganur Police Station, Trichy and apprehending arrest, he filed the petition in Crl.OP(MD)No.9120 of 2024, seeking anticipatory bail. The allegation as against this petitioner is that he has cut down some trees, without obtaining necessary 1/4

permission. When the petition came up for hearing on 21.06.2024, the petitioner offered to do some social activities, by planting more than 100 trees and for that purpose, he offered to deposit a sum of Rs.50,000/-. 3.This Court noticed that the Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Ulaganeri, has made an innovative idea of planting trees by the Students and also placed some boards displaying the Students' names and entrusted those trees to such Students for maintenance. This Court is also satisfied with the survival rate of such trees.

4.We are planting n-number of trees every year, but, after planting the trees, no one is worried about its growth. Some trees grew on its own through natural rainfall, while others wither. Therefore, on seeing the manner in which the trees are planted and maintained by the Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School, through its Students and also the willingness expressed by the petitioner, this Court, by order dated 21.06.2024, while granting anticipatory bail to the petitioner, directed him to deposit the amount of Rs.50,000/- with the Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School, for planting the trees from By-pass Road to Collectorate, Madurai. The petitioner was also directed to co-ordinate with the School for the purpose of this plantation.

5.The Headmistress, Government Model Girls Higher Secondary School, 2/4

Ulaganeri, Madurai, has filed a report dated 19.11.2024 that the order of this Court dated 21.06.2024 has been complied with and the trees have been planted. She has enclosed the photographs and the invoice particulars, in the form of a booklet. 6.The report dated 19.11.2024 filed by the Headmistress is hereby recorded and this Court appreciates the efforts taken by the Management and the Students of Government Modern Girls Higher Secondary School, Ulaganeri, Madurai. No further order is required to be passed in this petition. 7.The District Collector, Madurai; The Commissioner of Police, Madurai City; The Commissioner, Madurai Corporation; and The Divisional Engineer, Tamil Nadu Highways Department, Madurai; shall ensure that the tress, as aforesaid, planted by the Students of Government Modern Girls Higher Secondary School are maintained properly and are grown, by taking adequate measures. sd/- 03/02/2025 / TRUE COPY / /02/2025 Sub-Assistant Registrar (C.S.
