ORDER

This writ petition is filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide water connection in respect of the petitioner's house situated at Door No.23, Muslim Street, Periyapalayam, Varaganeri, Trichy on the basis of his representation dated 12.07.2017.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the property situated at Door No.23, Muslim Street, Periyapalayam, Varaganeri, Trichy, was gifted to the petitioner by one Hajeeja Bi Ammal on 21.12.2010, by way of gift deed and as such, he became the absolute owner of the said property. Prior to his occupation, there existed water connection, and due to some latches on the part of the previous occupants, the water connection was disconnected and later on, the petitioner submitted application and paid necessary charges on 12.07.2017, for getting water connection to his house and subsequently, represented several times before the authorities, but till date no water connection has been provided. Hence, having no other alternative remedy, the petitioner is before this Court by way of the present Writ Petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 3.The learned counsel appearing for the respondents, on

instructions, would submit that if the petitioner pays the entire arrears, the same would be accepted by the authorities and thereafter, the authorities would provide water connection to the petitioner's house, within a stipulated time. 4.Recording the statement of the learned counsel for the respondents, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner, to remit the entire arrears, within a period of two weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and on such remittance, the respondents are directed to provide water connection, to the petitioner's house, forthwith.
