PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to conduct a survey in all the tribal villages in the Southern Districts of State of Tamil Nadu and to issue 'Ration Cards/Family Cards' to the tribal people who are lacking the 'Ration Cards/Family Cards' in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble CHIEF JUSTICE] The petitioner complains of ration cards and family cards not being available to occupants of certain tribal villages in the southern districts of the State.

2.The petitioner is permitted to carry a representation to the fifth respondent-Director of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare within a fortnight from date, whereupon the concerned Director will inquire into the matter and take such remedial measures as may be necessary.

3.In the unlikely event that no remedial measure is necessary, the fifth respondent will indicate due reaons while disposing of the petitioner's representation in such regard. 4.W.P(MD) No.15102 of 2021 is disposed of on the above basis and without any order as to costs.
