ORDER

The Writ Petition is filed for a Mandamus to consider the petitioner's representations dated 14.02.2025 and 22.07.2025 and to pass final orders granting permission to the petitioner to cut and remove the palm trees standing in Survey Nos.72, 74 and 222 of Arasanur Village, Sivagangai Taluk, Sivagangai District.

2.Upon hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner, it is submitted that the trees are standing in the private land of the petitioner. They have now leased out the land for the purpose of establishing a solar power plant. Already the power plant has been established in a part of the land. In order to complete the work, the removal of the palm trees is 2/5

necessary and therefore, the application has been made. 3.The learned Government Advocate, taking notice on behalf of the respondents, would submit that the removal of the palm trees has to be considered as per the scheme framed by the Government in G.O(Ms)No.238 dated 12.09.2025, after ascertaining the views of the Committee and permission will have to be given. In this case, the report of the Revenue Divisional Officer is awaited. Once the report is obtained, it will be placed before the appropriate Committee and final orders will be passed. 4.In view of the submission made, let the first respondent shall consider the applications of the petitioner dated 14.02.2025 and 22.07.2025 and pass orders thereon in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than twelve weeks from the date of receipt of the web copy of this order.
