Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to initiate appropriate action against the respondents 6 to 8 as per the petitioner's representation dated 29.05.2017 against the kattapanchayat order of social boycott of the petitioner and his family and to restore water supply connection to the petitioner's residence situated at Punnakkayal Village, Thiruchendur Taluk, Thoothukudi District. ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 5 to initiate appropriate action against the respondents 6 to 8 for ordering social boycott of the petitioner and his family by conducting kattapanchayat and restore water supply connection to the petitioner's residence situated at Punnakkayal Village, Thiruchendur Taluk, Thoothukudi District, based on his representation, dated 29.05.2017. 2.Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the fifth respondent would submit that the Special Officer of Punnakkayal Panchayat, sent a letter, dated 21.09.2017 and the same reads as follows: "Regarding the averments made in Para 5 of the affidavit, it is submitted that the President of Punnakayal Village Committee Thiru.

Selvaraj has been enquired by the Special Officer of Punnakkayal Panchayat regarding the Petitioner's representation dated 29.05.2017 and the necessary instruction has been given to him on 20.09.2017 to restore the water supply connection to the Petitioner's residence at once and the President of Punnakayal Village Committee accepted the instruction of the Special Officer".
