ORDER

The prayer in the writ petition is for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to call the petitioner for certificate verification for the post of Dark Room Assistant as per Notification No.7/MRB/2016 dated 31.01.2016.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner after completing the higher secondary with Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, opted Paramedical Course(CRA) and successfully completed the same during January 2012. The petitioner submits that he has made an application in 2016 for direct recruitment to the post of Dark Room Assistant and by notification dated 25.01.2017, the respondents directed 130 candidates to appear for certificate verification on 30.01.2017 and the candidates from serial Nos.131 to 260 were directed to appear on 31.01.2017 and that the petitioner's https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

name did not find place therein. Therefore, the petitioner submits that his case may be considered and if found suitable, he may be accommodated.

3.Even though the counter affidavit has not been filed, Mr.T.S.Mohammed Mohideen, learned Additional Government Pleader would submit that 234 posts were vacant, for which, 700 applications have been made and 260 candidates have been called for for certificate verification. The petitioner is belonging to backward class community and that his rank is 516 as he had the weightage of 26.34 marks. He would further submit that the procedure for calling for certificate verification is taking 20% of the marks obtained in 10th Standard and another 30% of the marks obtained in 12th Standard which are worked out to 50% in total and the petitioner having scored 26.34 marks out of 50%, has not come within the zone of consideration and that the last candidate whose certificate was verified, was ranked at No.251 and secured 31.02 marks. In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, WMP(MD)Nos.1425 and 1426 of 2017 are closed.
