O R D E R

The petitioner has come up with the present writ petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to make necessary amendments in the school and degree certificates and change the erstwhile name "S.Sakthiammal" as "A.Mathina Banu". 2.According to the petitioner, her original name is S.Sakthiammal and she studied her school education in Sankar Higher Secondary School and B.A. Degree in Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. After completion of her studies, her family renounced the Hindu religion and adopted the Islam religion and consequent thereof, her parents have changed their names and the petitioner has also changed her name as Mathina Banu and the same was also published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, dated 26.02.2014 in Page 560, but in the school and the degree certificates, her name stood as S.Sakthiammal. Hence, she sent representation to the respondents on 12.08.2017. Since, there is no response, the present writ petition.

3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

4.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in the writ petition, this court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents 3 and 4 to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 12.08.2017 and pass appropriate orders purely on merits and in accordance with law, after affording opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the order copy.

5.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
