The prayer in this writ petition is for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant ordinary leave of 30 days without escort to the petitioner's husband, namely, Palani, son of Sankarapandi, Convict No.4296, detained in Central Prison, Palayamkottai.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.R.Anandharaj, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, would state that the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.09.2020, was rejected by the Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Madurai Range, Madurai, vide order dated 01.11.2020, and the same was communicated to the convict also.
