Heard the learned counsel on either side.
2.The petitioner wants this Court to direct the second respondent to convene a peace committee meeting. It has been held consistently that decision taken in a peace committee meeting do not have any statutory value or force. They cannot be legally enforced. They are steps taken by the revenue authorities for maintaining peace in a locality. The power of authority to conduct a peace committee meeting is not traceable to any particular provision in Criminal Procedure Code. Therefore, the writ petition is not maintainable. It is open to the authorities to act as per law. 3.With this observation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 06.07.2022 Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No ias 2/4
