ORDER

The Writ Petition is filed for disposal of the petitioner's representation dated 30.03.2026.

2.Upon hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner and perusing the material records of the case, the case of the petitioner is that the petitioner's husband Malaichamy died on 07.06.1997 at Karur and immediately thereof, the same was registered on 11.06.1997 with the Registrar of Births and Deaths at Karur. A Death Certificate was also issued in Registration No.13 dated 11.06.1997. While so, certain third parties, who wanted to create false documents, have once again registered the death of the petitioner's husband under Registration No.27 of 1999, two years after his death, before the Kodaikanal Municipality. Therefore, the petitioner has made the present representation to cancel the same. 2/6

3.The petitioner has not arrayed the said third parties as respondents before this Court. As such, this Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the allegations that is made. Since it is stated that there are two entries in respect of the very same death and the first entry was recorded in the year 1997 and the present second entry could not have been made in the year 1999, this Writ Petition is disposed of at the admission stage. The learned counsel appearing on behalf the Kodaikanal Municipality would submit that, due to efflux of time, the Municipality does not have any records explaining how the entry to be made in the year 1999. 4.Be that as it may, notice may be issued to the contesting parties, and the petitioner shall indicate the persons who are allegedly misusing the said certificate, whereupon the issue shall be decided. 5.In view thereof, this Writ Petition is disposed of on the following terms:

i. The petitioner shall make an additional representation within a period of one week from the date of receipt of the web copy of this order, categorically mentioning about the persons who would have wrongly made the second entry, along with their names and addresses. ii. As and when the same is made, the petitioner's original representation dated 30.03.2026, along with the additional representation, shall be taken up for enquiry by the respondent.

iii.Due notice to the petitioner as well as the third parties who are interested in the matter shall be issued and after an enquiry, orders in accordance with law shall be passed.

i. The aforesaid excise shall be completed within a period of three months from the date of submission of the additional representation by the petitioner.

No costs.
