ORDER

The petitioner seeks the expeditious disposal of an appeal filed before the jurisdictional Revenue Divisional Officer against the refusal by the Tahsildar to grant a Legal Heirship Certificate.

2. The petitioner states that he was born to his father, the late Alagumalai, through his first wife Petchiammal. It is stated that his father married one Rakku after the death of Petchiammal. Two children were born to his father and the said Rakku. Upon the death by murder of his father, the petitioner applied for a Legal Heirship Certificate. Such Certificate was not granted. Therefore, the petitioner filed an appeal before the first respondent on 10.05.2021. The present writ petition is filed for the expeditious disposal thereof.

3. Mr.R.Baskaran, learned counsel for the State, accepts notice on behalf of both the respondents. In view of the limited https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD)No.14696 of 2021 scope of the present writ petition, he submits that he has no objection to the expeditious disposal of the appeal.

4. Accordingly, without going into the merits of the matter, the first respondent herein is directed to consider the appeal dated 10.05.2021 and dispose of the same within a period of three (3) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and the other legal heirs of the late Alagumalai.

5. W.P.(MD).No.14696 of 2021 is disposed of on these terms without any order as to costs.
