O RDER This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the 2nd respondent to expedite the investigation in respect of recovery of the amount of Rs.13,68,750/- (Rupees Thirteen Lakhs Sixty Eight Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Only).
2.It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that the petitioner lost the said amount by way of online fraud and on realizing the same, he lodged a complaint before the 2nd respondent, who has registered a case in Crime No.18 of 2021 for the offences under Section 420 IPC and Section 66D of Information Technology (Amendment) Act 2006. He further submitted that in the course of investigation, the respondent Police have recovered a sum of Rs.9,85,982/- (Rupees Nine Lakhs Eighty Five Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty Two Only). Thereafter, since no progress has been made, he filed this petition to expedite the investigation and file a charge sheet. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents, on the other hand, submitted that subsequent to the registration of the crime, the respondent Police have recovered a sum of Rs.9,85,982/- and efforts are on to recover the balance amount and investigation is in progress. 2/4
He further submitted that the investigation would be completed as soon as possible.
4.The same is recorded. Since the investigation is in progress, the respondent Police are directed to complete the investigation as expeditiously as possible.
