ORDER

The petitioner, with a grievance that their request for conducting vaikasi festival at Arulmigu Eswaran-Kaliamman Temple situated at Ilangapuripattinam, Pethanadarpatti Village, Alangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District, has not been considered by the respondent Police, has filed this writ petition.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that there are two groups in the village and therefore, they are not in a position to take a decision.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that they have sought for permission, based on the decree granted by the Sub Court, 2/4

Tenkasi, in O.S.No.33 of 2004 dated 23.11.2010.

4. It is unfortunate that the respondent Police has not taken any decision on the petitioner's representation seeking permission to conduct vaikasi festival, when there is a civil court decree in favour of the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, with a direction to the respondent Police to take a decision on the petitioner's representation, based on the civil court decree, within a period of two days. No costs. 11.06.2025 Index : Yes / No.
