3. In G.O.(Ms) No.385, Revenue (Public-3) Department, dated
17.08.2004, the Government has clarified and designated the concerned District Revenue Officer as the competent authority for carrying out any rectification in UDR records. As such, the ground raised by the petitioner may not be correct. In view of the fact that the enquiry is for carrying out rectification in UDR records, the first respondent - District Revenue Officer, Madurai, is the competent authority and as such, the writ petition does not deserve consideration and the same stands dismissed. No costs.
