ORDER
Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the respondents 1 and 2 and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 3 and 4. 2.The short points involved in this case are that the petitioner herein has successfully completed his M.E. Structural
Engineering in the year 2017. In the direct recruitment process for the appointment to the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) in Water Resources Department in Public Works Department, he was provisionally selected and during the certificate verification, it was found that his name and date of birth have been wrongly spelt in the S.S.L.C., mark sheet instead of N.R.Ravanth and date of birth 10.12.1994, it is mentioned as N.R.Revanth with date of birth 10.06.1994. The authorities in the office of Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission have found discrepancy in the S.S.L.C., mark sheet and therefore, the appointment has been withheld for production of amended S.S.L.C., mark sheet. While doing so, seven (7) days time has been given to the petitioner herein to produce the required documents and in the letter dated 15.11.
2018, it is also mentioned that if he fails to produce the required documents, the provisional selection will be cancelled. 3.The contention of the writ petitioner herein is that he has already given representation dated 09.11.2018 to the respondents 3 and 4 to give amended S.S.L.C., mark sheet, carrying right particulars and his representation dated 09.11.2018 has been received by the authorities. However, from the source, he understand that it may take more than 7 days to issue amended S.S.L.C., mark sheet and therefore, seeks indulgence of this Court to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to give effect to the provisionally selected list and appoint him in the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil), pending production of amended certificate.
4.Considering the representation of the petitioner and the facts involved in this case, this Court is of the considered opinion that the time for production of amended certificate copy is very short and in the given circumstances, it is impossible for the petitioner herein to give amended S.S.L.C., certificate within a period of 7 days. Therefore, the time for production of required document shall be extended by sixty (60) days from today. The respondents 1 and 2 herein shall keep one post vacant, till then and not to give effect to the communication dated 15.11.2018, issued by the second respondent. If the petitioner herein fails to produce the required certificate, even after 60 days, it is always open to the respondents 1 and 2 to proceed further in accordance with law.
5.Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
