O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed for issuing a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 4 to grant permission and provide police protection to conduct Purattasi Pongal Festival to Arulmigu Mariamman Temple and, Vinayagar Temple and Karuppusamy Temple at Valavanthalpuram Village, Rajapalayam Taluk, Virudhunagar District from 26.09.2017 to 28.09.2017.

2. Heard Mr.V. Kannan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S. Sadhishkumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. Though the Writ Petition is for issuing a Writ of Mandamus to give a positive direction to the respondents, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submit that the petitioner will be satisfied if a direction is issued to the 4th respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 16.09.2017 and pass appropriate orders, after conducting the Peace Committee Meeting, if necessary.

4. Having regard to the limited scope of prayer that is now sought before this Court by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to pass the following direction:- "The fourth respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.09.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, on or before 25.09.2017 after conducting the Peace Committee Meeting if necessary before 23.09.2017, with the assistance and participation of the second respondent."

6. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
