Respondents PRAYER :- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ or Order or Direction in the nature of Writ , very particularly Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 5 to 7 to provide adequate protection to the petitioner to continue performing the religious duties and rituals at Arulmigu Sri Mariamman, Sri Kaliyamman, Sri Vinayagar and Sri Veeramalaiyan Temple at Uppiliyampatti Village, Kadavur Taluk, Karur District without any hindrance, while ensuring the peaceful conduct of the annual temple festival in the Tamil months of Chithirai-Vaikasi as per established customs and traditions based on the Petitioners representation dated 06.05.2025.

ORDER

Seeking to direct the respondents 5 to 7 to provide adequate protection to the petitioner to continue performing the religious duties and rituals at Arulmigu Sri Mariamman, Sri Kaliyamman, Sri Vinayagar and Sri Veeramalaiyan Temple at Uppiliyampatti Village, Kadavur Taluk, Karur District without any hindrance, while ensuring the peaceful conduct of the annual temple festival in the Tamil months of ChithiraiVaikasi as per established customs and traditions based on the Petitioners representation dated 06.05.2025.

2. The learned Government Advocate submitted that the representation of the petitioner is received and it is found that two groups are creating trouble in the peaceful conduct of the temple festival. Already, the respondent police has reverted the respective parties to approach the proper civil forum to seek their remedies.

3. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is seeking permission only to conduct the temple festival. 3/6

In this regard, the 7th respondent police is directed to put the petitioner and the 8th respondent on notice under Section 64 of BNSS and conduct an inquiry and pass necessary orders, if the both the petitioner and the rival parties volunteer for peacefully conducting the temple festival jointly.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
