O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent herein to re-issue the passport as per the application of the petitioner dated 09.05.2017 in File No.MD1070228934117 without referring to pendency of FIR in Crime No.268 of 2012 dated 16.09.2012 within a reasonable time. 2.Mr.J.Jeyakumaran, learned counsel takes notice for respondent. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner filed an application on 09.05.2017 for renewal of his passport. Pending consideration, the respondent issued show cause notice on 13.06.2017, for which, the petitioner has already submitted his explanation on 04.07.2017. But so far the respondent has not passed any order, which causes mental agony to the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

petitioner.

4.The learned counsel for the petitioner would further submit that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the respondent to pass orders on his explanation.

5.Considering the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the facts of the case, this Court, without going into the merits, directs the respondent to pass orders on the proceedings dated 13.06.2017 by considering the explanation of the petitioner dated 04.07.2017, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
