O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.02.2019 and to promote him, by applying the criteria stipulated in G.O.Ms.No.203, dated 30.10.2000, taking into account his seniority.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that his name has not been included in the State-wide Seniority List. In this regard, he made a representation dated 17.02.2019, to the respondents. Since the respondents have not taken any steps to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 17.02.2020, he has approached this Court by filing this writ petition.

3. Mr.A.Karuppasamy, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 would submit that State-wide Seniority List has been issued by the first respondent, on 28.08.2020, wherein the petitioner's name is appeared as Serial No.80.

4. While recording the statement made by the learned Government Advocate, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that his representation is not only for including his name in the seniority list, but also with regard to the promotion as well.

5. Since the petitioner has made a representation to the respondents on 17.02.2019, wherein he has narrated how he is entitled for the promotion, it is for the first respondent to take a call and pass appropriate orders on the said representation. Hence, this Court directs the first respondent, who is the appropriate authority, to pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 17.02.2019, with regard to the entitlement of the promotion, based on the State-wide Seniority List, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
