ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.SRIMATHY, J) Mr.D.Gandhi Raj, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3 and 5. Mr.T.Senthilkumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the fourth respondent. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 3rd respondent to grant permission for conducting the Vadamadu Manjuvirattu event on 25.05.2025 Chitra Pournami festival at Melasivapuri Village, Varpattu Panchayath, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai District, by including the petitioner's village of Melasivapuri Village, Varpattu Panchayath, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai District, in the Pudukkottai District Gazette based on his representation dated 06.05.2025.
3. The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 06.05.2025 to the third respondent to grant permission to conduct Vadamadu Manjuvirattu in his village and to include his village of Melasivapuri Village, Varpattu Panchayath, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai District, in the Pudukkottai 3/6
District Gazette. However, the said representation is kept pending. Hence, he filed the present writ petition seeking the above said relief.
4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this court directs the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.05.2025 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
