ORDER

The petitioner has filed this writ petition with a grievance that the respondent Police has not given permission for conducting Varushabishaka festival at Arulmigu Valamburi Vinayagar Thirukovil 2/5

situated at APJ Abdulkalam Nagar, Anaikulam Village, Thiruchulli Taluk, Virudhunagar District.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that there are two groups and therefore, permission was not granted.

3. Considering the said submission, this Court, by order dated 02.06.2025, referred the matter to the Mediation Centre and also appointed the learned counsel Mrs.Jessi Jeeva Priya, who is having 30 years of practice in the Bar, as a Mediator in this case. On the best efforts taken by the Mediator, the issue has been amicably solved between the parties and both the groups have agreed to conduct Varushabishaka festival jointly. The Mediator has also filed a report along with the compromise memo.

4. Recording the compromise memo, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent Police to permit the petitioner as well as the rival group to conduct Varushabishaka festival jointly in a peaceful manner. No costs.

5. This Court places its appreciation to the Mediator for the efforts taken by her to settle the issue between the parties. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
