PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime No.20 of 2024 on the file of the Respondent Police. ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/A15, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 17.05.2024, for the offence under sections 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 474 and 120(b) of 1/3

IPC in Crime No.20 of 2024, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 2.The allegation as against this petitioner is that he has impersonated one Narayanan, forged and executed the general power of attorney of the property in Resurvey No.212/2, UDR Survey No.71/2 to an extent of 2400 sq.ft in Plot No.70, Meenakshi Amman Nagar to one Malaiyadiyan/A16, who is the Panchayat President of their village. Based on the forged general power, the said property was sold to one Padma for a sale consideration of Rs.75,00,000/-. Hence, the case. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is aged about 60 years and he is an illiterate. A16 is the mastermind in this offence, who obtained power of attorney by defrauding the petitioner by saying that he will arrange loan for Rs.1,00,000/- to the petitioner.

Believing the words, the petitioner went along with the other accused to sign the papers. The petitioner came to know about the alleged forgery, only after his arrest. 4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent strongly objects for grant of bail to the petitioner on the ground that the investigation in this case is yet to be completed.

5.Considering the objections raised by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, nature of offence and the stage of the investigation, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to this petitioner.
