PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct the Kidaai Muttu (Goat Fighting), sports event dated 17.06.2023 at about 8.00 AM, on the eve of the festival in temple namely Sri Pudukottai Vellaiyamman @ Seelakaari Amman Temple is being situated at Aviyur Village, Kariyapatti Taluk, Virudhunagar District and also give adequate police protection by considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.05.2023. This writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission to conduct the Kidaai Muttu (Goat Fighting), sports event dated 17.06.2023 at about 8.00 AM, on the eve of the festival in temple namely Sri Pudukottai Vellaiyamman @ Seelakaari Amman Temple is being situated at Aviyur Village, Kariyapatti Taluk, Virudhunagar District and also give adequate police protection by considering the petitioner's representation dated 27.05.2023.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the representation that was made by the petitioner was rejected, directing the petitioner to approach the Assistant Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Virudhunagar, for appropriate permission.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that they have approached the Assistant Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Virudhunagar, and he has refused the petitioner's representation orally, but there is no written order.
4. The Assistant Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Virudhunagar, is suo-motu impleaded as fourth respondent in this matter.
5. The petitioner is directed to approach the fourth respondent herein by way of proper representation immediately. The fourth respondent is directed to consider the above said representation on its own merits within a week from the date of representation of the petitioner.

6. With the above said directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
