Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to grant permission and protection to conduct Vaikasi temple festival at "Sri Sithi Vinayagar, Sri Kaliamman, Sri Mariyamman temples situated at M.M.Kovilur Village, Dindigul District from 27.05.2025 to 29.05.2025 and cultural programme namely Adal Padal on 28.05.2025. ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus directing the respondents herein to grant permission to conduct the Vaikasi temple festival at "Sri Sithi Vinayagar, Sri Kaliamman, Sri Mariyamman temples situated at M.M.Kovilur Village, Dindigul District from 27.05.2025 to 29.05.2025 and cultural programme namely Adal Padal on 28.05.2025. 2.Mr.R.M.Anbunithi, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has submitted a representation to the respondents on 19.05.2025 seeking permission to conduct the Vaikasi temple festival at "Sri Sithi Vinayagar, Sri Kaliamman, Sri Mariyamman temples situated at M.M.Kovilur Village, Dindigul District from 27.05.2025 to 29.05.2025 and cultural programme namely Adal Padal on 28.05.2025. Since the said representation was not considered, the present Writ Petition has been filed. 2/4

Considering the limited scope of the prayer in the writ petition, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 19.05.2025 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law on or before 25.05.2025.
