This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent Police to provide police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and her family members from the respondents 3 to 6.

It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that the marriage of the petitioner was performed with the third respondent who is the son of the respondents 4 and 5 and brother of the respondent No.6. Eversince the marriage, the respondents 3 to 6 have been harassing the petitioners in many ways then one and she had vexed with the same and started residing at parents place. The petitioner is stated to have filed a representation before the respondent Police on 27.04.2023 making allegations in respect of harassment of the respondents 3 to 6. The grievance of the petitioner is that the said representation is not taken care of and not being enquired. 2/5

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent Police on the other hand submits that in pursuance of receiving the complaint dated 27.04.2023, the Police have enquired into by calling both the parties and the petitioner had given an undertaking that they will approach the appropriate Family Court and file a petition under the Hindu Marriage Act. Further, the enquiries by the Department have been revealed that there is no threat in the contents of the complaint.
4. Since the respondent Police have stated to have made enquiry and not inclined to register the case, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
