This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to return the passport of the petitioner bearing number Z3108104 dated 21.04.15 forthwith.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned counsel for the first respondent and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents 2 and 3. 3.The grievance of the petitioner is that the the first respondent has retained his passport, pointing out pendency of a criminal case against the petitioner. Now, according to the petitioner as well as respondents, the criminal case came to be closed and hence, the petitioner is before this Court seeking appropriate direction for return of his passport. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
4.The learned counsel appearing for the first respondent submitted that the name of the petitioner's father found in the closure report of the criminal case differs than that of the one found in the passport application and no efforts has been taken by the petitioner to clarify the same.
5.In view of the said submission, the petitioner is directed to file an affidavit to the satisfaction of the first respondent and on filing such affidavit, the first respondent is directed to return the passport forthwith.
6.With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
