O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to pay the full insurance amount payable to the petitioner on the basis of the insurance premium paid vide receipt No.10728 dated 30.11.2016.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the lands comprised in S.Nos.56/1 and 56/2 situated at Samuthiram Village, Ilayankudi Taluk, Sivagangai District belong to the petitioner. The Government of Tamil Nadu introduced a Crop Insurance Scheme during 2016. The petitioner has paid Rs.811/- and registered his name under the third respondent who is the authorised person for payment of insurance amount. While so, due to drought conditions, the name of the petitioner was recommended by the third respondent for getting the crop insurance amount. Hence, the petitioner has given a representation to the respondents. Since the same has not been considered so far, the petitioner is before this Court by filing the present Writ Petition.

3.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents. By consent, the Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission.

4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim, directs the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.09.2017 and pass appropriate orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
