Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to fill up the vacancy for the post of Anganwadi worker to the village of Kannamuthakarai Village, Kalaiyarkovil Taluk, Sivagangai District from the community of Adi Dravidar (SC) as per first respondent's proceedings in Se.Mu.Ka.No.1290/A1/2017, dated 10.08.2017 and appoint the petitioner for the same within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned Counsel on either side.

3. The writ petitioner seeks a direction for filling up the vacancies in the post of Aganwadi workers in the Village of Kannamuthakarai Village, Kalaiyarkovil Taluk, Sivagangai District. According to the petitioner, it was originally earmarked for the Scheduled Caste candidates.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submits that the Centre is actually earmarked for Most Backward Classes category.

5. In this view of the matter, no direction as sought out by the writ petitioner can be granted. Therefore, this Writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, W.M.P. (MD). No. 15071 of 2017 is closed.
