O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the second respondent to dispose of the petitioner's Application No.329/2016/G5 dated .11.2016.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent. By consent, this writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he is in possession of the property in question and his father has been paying the house tax regularly in his name and he expired on 24.05.1988. Subsequently, UDR patta was issued in his father's name and one R.Rajendran, for the very same property of the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner has submitted an application dated https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

21.12.2015 before the 1st respondent for cancellation of earlier patta and issuance of new patta in his name. Thereafter, enquiry was conducted and he has submitted his further explanation dated 17.12.2016 along with required documents and it has been kept pending without any further progress. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner is before this Court for early disposal of the application.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader for Respondents would submit that if a reasonable time is granted to the second respondent, the application preferred by the petitioner will be considered and suitable orders passed.

5. In view of the above submission, this Court directs the second respondent to dispose of the Application No.329/2016/G5 of the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other interested parties, if any.

6. With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
