respondents to take immediate action to renovate and reconstruct the Runway located in the Chettinad, near Karaikudi which was mentioned in the tentative list of Phase I of "Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik" (UDAN) Scheme into an full fledged Airport and to include the said Airport under Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) Scheme in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court. O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] The relief of sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to take immediate action to renovate and reconstruct the Runway located in the Chettinad, near Karaikudi which was mentioned in the tentative list of Phase I of "Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik" (UDAN) Scheme into an full fledged Airport and to include the said Airport under Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) Scheme in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. A counter affidavit has been filed by the respondents 1 and 2. 2/5

In paragraph 13 of the counter affidavit, it has been held as follows:- "13. The Ministry of Civil Aviation/Airports Authority of India has called a special round of bidding for past round routes and state sponsored routes in March 2021. Before call of bidding, State Govt. was asked to provide their preferred routes with assurance of VGF funding but MoCA/AAI RCS Cell did not receive any proposal from Govt. of Tamil Nadu for inclusion in the bidding."

3. The learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 would submit that there is no such proposal as on today from the Government of Tamil Nadu. Since the Government of Tamil Nadu has not submitted any proposal, no further action was taken.

4. The High Court cannot issue any direction for the development of the airport. That being the case, no further consideration is required. Hence, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
