ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus as against the first respondent herein to renew the petitioner's passport based upon his application.

2. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, two FIRs' were registered in the year 2018 against the petitioner for participating in a protest in a public place. Even after a period of three years, the police authorities are not in a position to file a charge sheet. Therefore, the petitioner seeks a Mandamus as against the respondents for renewal of his passport. The first respondent herein has issued an objection letter on 06.05.2025, for which a reply has also been sent by the petitioner on 13.05.2025.

Considering the above said facts, the first respondent herein is directed to consider the reply submitted by the petitioner on 13.05.2025, in the light of the fact that so far charge sheet has not yet filed by the respondent police and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
