ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.S.SUNDAR, J.) This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to conduct the Virattu Manjuvirattu scheduled on 31.07.2022 in connection with Aadi urchava Thiruvizha in Sri Nambi Natchiamman Temple Festival at Public Thidal, Pidarampatti Village, Melasivapuri Post, Ponnamavarathy Taluk, Pudukottai District based on the petitioner's representation, dated 24.06.2022. 2.The petitioner has given a representation on 24.06.2022 to the District Collector and the respondents herein, to grant permission to conduct Manjuviratu in connection with the temple festival in the village. 3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents relies upon Section 3(2) (i) of the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Jallikattu Act, 2009, which reads as follows: "3 (2) No permission under sub~section (1) shall be granted to any person to conduct the event, unless the Collector satisfies himself that, ~ (i)the event is conducted during the months from January to May of a year."

4.When the Government has taken a policy decision to permit Jallikattu or Manjuvirattu function only from January to May of every year and when there is a specific statutory provision, this Court is not inclined to entertain this Writ Petition. In view of the same, the Writ Petition is dismissed No costs. However, it is open to the petitioner to approach the Government if they want any relief.
