PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a writ or order or direction or in the nature of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents No.1 and 2 to probe into the issue of assigning patta under assignment patta for landless poor belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribes community, to an extent of 2.76.5 hectares in S.F.Nos.202/1A1A, 203/1A2, 204/1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B of Pattapathu Village, Tenkasi District, take necessary actions on the erring officials within time frame, conclude the proceedings in Petn.No.11840/2019/REV/TI, dated 13.11.2019 on the file of the 1st respondent as fixed by this Court. O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents No.1 and 2 to probe into the issue of assigning patta under assignment patta for landless poor belonging to scheduled caste and scheduled tribes community, to an extent of 2.76.5 hectares in S.F.Nos.202/1A1A, 203/1A2, 204/1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A & 3B of Pattapathu Village, Tenkasi District, take necessary actions on the erring officials within time frame, conclude the proceedings in Petn.No.11840/2019/REV/TI, dated 13.11.2019 on the file of the 1st respondent as fixed by this Court. 2/5

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the Vigilance Department had already decided to conduct preliminary enquiry in its proceedings in P.E.No.11840/2023/REV/TI, dated 11.12.2023 and directed the officer to conduct the enquiry.

3. Recording the same, this Writ Petition stands closed with direction to the director of Vigilance and Anti-corruption Department to complete the preliminary enquiry within the period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
