O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.05.2017.

2. The case of the petitioner is that pursuant to his application, he was earlier granted old age pension of Rs.1000/- per month under Indra Gandhi Desiya Muthioor Uthavithohai with an assurance of payment till his life time. However, it was all of a sudden stopped from August, 2014 onwards on the ground that he had one acre land. It is the further case of the petitioner that he had already sold 52 cents of land due to poverty and handed over 42 cents to his son and narrating all these, he has submitted a representation dated 27.05.2017 to the 1st respondent, which did not evoke any response. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court with the above prayer.

3. The learned Government Advocate would submit that if a reasonable time is granted to the 1st respondent, the

representation of the petitioner will be considered and suitable orders passed.

4. In view of the above submission, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.05.2017 and pass appropriate orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.

5. With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
