O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed, seeking a direction to the respondent No.2 to dispose the petitioner's application for renewal of license dated 27.02.2017 for the period from 01.04.2017 to 31.03.2018 for possession and sale of fire crackers as per the provisions of the Explosive Rules 2008 to the petitioner https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents. By consent on either side, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he is into the business of selling crackers from 1998 onwards and license was duly granted for the same, which was renewed from time to time. While so, the petitioner made an application on 27.02.2017 for renewal of his license for the period from 01.04.2017 to 31.03.2018 before the 2nd respondent, which is being kept without taking any decision thereon for the past eight months. Aggrieved by such inaction, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that if a reasonable time is granted to the 2nd respondent, the application filed by the petitioner will be considered and suitable orders passed.

5. In view of the above submission, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the second respondent to consider the application of the petitioner dated 27.02.2017 and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
