ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 & 2 to provide police protection to life and limb of the petitioner.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the resident of Pondicherry and he is a senior citizen and he own some property in Thanjavur. He would further submit that one Edwin Raj claiming the said property and entered into a fraudulent sale agreement with one Gopi. Based on the complaint given by the petitioner, the District Registrar had given a finding that the said sale agreement is a fraudulent one. He would also submit that the petitioner given a complaint before the Land Grabbing Cell wherein the said persons appeared and given a undertaken stating that they will work out their remedy before the appropriate Civil Court and that they will not disturb the possession of the petitioner. However, they continued to disturb the possession of the petitioner and claimed a sum of Rs.10,00,000/-, in respect of which the petitioner had given a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

complaint. Since no action taken by the respondent Police, this Criminal Original Petition has been filed.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that based on the complaint given by the petitioner, the counter-parties have been called for an enquiry and if there is material that offences have been made out, proper and suitable action would be taken by the respondent police. 4.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is aged about 70 years and a resident of Pondicherry and the respondent police may issue appropriate notice to him for enquiry. If the presence of the petitioner is required by the respondent Police, the respondent Police shall issue appropriate notice to the petitioner.

4.Recording the same, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
