O R D E R
The relief sought for in the present Writ Petition is to direct the the respondents to sanction the medical expenses for a sum of Rs.1,63,637/- paid in cash by the petitioner towards the treatment undergone in Velammal Hospital at Madurai by petitioner's mother.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that his mother took treatment for acute headache. She was surgically treated at Velammal
Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Madurai from 26.07.2019 to 09.08.2019. He spent a sum of Rs.1,63,637 /- for medical expenses of his mother. He submitted all the necessary bills for medical expenses of reimbursement. In this regard, the petitioner's mother submitted a representation on 12.08.2019. No order has been passed on the said representation. Therefore, this petition.
3. Mrs.D.Farjana Ghousia, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3 and submits that in pursuance of the petitioner's claim for reimbursement, he appeared before the Medical Board on 11.02.2022. The District Level Empower Committee considered the application for reimbursement of medical claim and gave approval in Na.Ka.No.1260/Magu/2022 dated 24.03.2022 and the approval was sent to the United India Insurance Company, Chennai on 30.03.2022 for further necessary orders.
4. In the said circumstances, this Court directs the fourth respondent to sanction the medical expenses for a sum of Rs.1,63,637/- to the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition disposed of. No costs.
