O R D E R

This Writ petition is filed for issuing a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission to perform the programme of Adal Padal on 17.10.2017 night at about 8.00 pm to 12.00 am at "Arulmigu Vechelliamman Thirukovil" is situated at K.Puliyankulam, Thirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District and to provide adequate Police Protection based on the representation dated 08.10.2017.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents on instructions submitted that there was a Peace committee Meeting conducted and agreed that this petitioner and others not to conduct any cultural event or programme this year. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. However, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the consensus was arrived at between the parties concerned and that therefore, the representation of the petitioner dated 08.10.2017 may be considered by the respondent Police.

Having regard to the facts of the case, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the following directions:- The respondent Police is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.10.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the parties concerned and if there is consensus between the parties concerned for conducting cultural event on 17.10.2017, the respondent may grant permission to perform Adal Padal programme or any cultural programme subject to the conditions to ensure law and order problem. No costs.
