PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant 2 months of ordinary leave without an escort to the husband of the petitioner namely Alexpandian, who is undergoing sentence as life convict in Central Prison, Madurai, in pursuance of the petitioner's representation dated 10.05.2025 within a time frame fixed by this Court.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by S.SRIMATHY,J.) This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant two months of ordinary leave without an escort to the husband of the petitioner namely, Alexpandian, who is undergoing sentence as life convict in Central Prison, Madurai, in pursuance of the petitioner's representation dated 10.05.2025.

2.Heard Mr..K.Pandipriya, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.T.Senthilkumar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

3. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstance of the case and the limited relief sought for in the writ petition and without going into the merits

of the case, there shall be a direction to the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 10.05.2025 strictly in accordance with law and take a decision within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
