Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to mutate the Revenue Records in respect of S.F.No.63/37 and 63/38 for an extent of 0.04.5 Hectare in Patta No.574 and 575 situated at Pallthur Group, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District in favour of the petitioner, on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 21.08.2017. By consent, this writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. Mr.M.Alagathevan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent.

3. According to the petitioner, the property in S.F.No.63/37 and 63/38 for an extent of 0.04.5 Hectare situated at Pallthur Group, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District, belongs to them, whereas, all the revenue records stood in the name of its previous owner. Therefore, the petitioner's father had preferred an application before the authorities and thereafter, patta was changed in his favour, but other revenue records were not changed. It is the grievance of the petitioner that though the then Tahsildar had ordered to change the name in all revenue records like Patta, Chitta, the same was not duly followed and aggrieved thereby, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 21.08.2017, before the District Collector, Sivagangai, which was forwarded to the respondent herein, where the same is kept pending, without any action. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court, with the aforesaid prayer.

4.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice, if the representation of the petitioner dated 21.08.2017, is disposed of, by the respondent, as per law, within a stipulated time limit.

5.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioner's claim, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 21.08.2017 and pass appropriate orders on its own merit and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as all the interested parties, if any, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
