ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Section 379 of IPC, Section 21(5) of Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 and Section 3(1) of TNPPDL Act, 1992, in Crime No.97 of 2021, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with some other persons had damaged the river bed and had illegally transported four bags of river sand. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an innocent person and he is falsely implicated in this case.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on instructions, would submit that the petitioner had illegally transported four bags of river sand without permit. He would further submit that two previous cases of similar nature are pending against the petitioner.

5. Considering the bad antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner and the Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
